The Hormones Used for Treatment
In treating the MENOPAUSE, at the Holistic Medical Clinic, we use natural based hormones converted from Yam or Soya. Once converted, they are identical to the chemical structure of woman’s own hormones. Read more about our Bioidentical Hormone Treatment.
The main replacement hormones are Oestrogen and Progesterone, then when needed, other hormones are added usually one at a time. These other hormones may include Testosterone, DHEA, Pregnenolone, and Melatonin.
At Holistic Medical Clinic, Dr Moran will often include Nutritional and Herbal products to treat Menopause and chronic inflammatory conditions.
Investigations
Common conditions investigated are an underactive Thyroid function, Adrenal Stress, Gut Dysbiosis (“leaky Gut”), Insomnia and inflammatory conditions.
At HMC we believe in finding the cause of the patient’s condition by investigating with relevant tests and then offering different treatment options.
Thyroid
It is not uncommon for women suffering menopausal symptoms to also have an underactive Thyroid gland and if tests and symptoms are positive both conditions will be treated.
Adrenal Stress
Adrenal Stress is common and a simple saliva test with a blood test will help Dr Moran to decide what treatment is needed. This may be lifestyle changes including nutrition, weight loss and exercise tailored to the patient. Adrenal supports, with herbal and nutritional products are often given.
Gut Dysbiosis
Another common problem is a GUT Dysbiosis with symptoms which may include bloating after eating, wind, constipation and/or diarrhoea. The gut biome may have been changed by long term antibiotics or past and present infections or parasites.
A treatment regime to change the gut biome to a healthier one is used at H.M.C.
Often ill health is a combination of problems involving the Thyroid, Adrenals and Gut function.
Menopausal symptoms including hot flushes and night sweats, anxiety and depression, tiredness, loss of sex drive and dry vagina can be treated with Bioidentical Hormones with many different routes of administration available.
