Nutritional Medicine

“We are what we digest and absorb” and many of us think we eat well, but in fact there is great room for improvement. Nutrition affects every aspect of our health from brain to cardiovascular and gut health together with the immune system, energy levels and of course, last but not least, our body image.

Being overweight or obese is an increasing problem both in the U.K. and the Western World as a whole. Obesity can, in some cases, lead to type 2 diabetes. Dr Moran has a postgraduate Masters degree (MSc) in Nutritional Medicine. We possess the know-how and experience to investigate any nutritional problem. Before the first consultation you will be asked to complete a detailed questionnaire and symptom checklist. At the time of consultation, any tests that are necessary will be discussed with the patient. After all results are in, a detailed summary and instructions, individually tailored to each patient’s nutritional needs, is produced.

Some common conditions treated nutritionally, as well as medically, at Holistic Medical Clinic are gut problems, chronic fatigue syndrome, irritable bowel syndrome, women’s gynaecological problems such as fibroids, endometriosis and PMS, weight management and food intolerances.

Many of these conditions will require blood, saliva or urine tests where we can analyse in great detail the cause of the problem.
