Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is an endocrine disorder affecting five to ten percent of women of reproductive age often leading to infertility.

Some of the symptoms of PCOS include excess body weight (apple-shape), an increase in facial and body hair, acne, thinning head-hair and bald patches, bloating, pelvic pain, mood swing and infertility.

Reliable methods to diagnose this syndrome include pelvic ultrasound, hormone blood tests and testing for insulin resistance (Type II diabetes).

Treatment for PCOS might include low-carbohydrate diets, regular exercise and in some cases Metformin.
